Veterinary Anthelmintic
COMPOSITION
Each Şeritab Oral Tablet, which is yellow in color and has two breakpoints, contains 300 mg of Praziquantel.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Şeritab Oral Tablet contains Praziquantel, an isoquinoline derivative anthelmintic. Praziquantel is a broad-spectrum cestocidal anthelmintic specific to tapeworms. Praziquantel impairs the membrane permeability of the tapeworm, preventing glucose uptake and depleting its energy reserves, leading to the death of the parasite. After a few seconds, severe contractions and contractions occur in the rings of the tapeworms that come into contact with praziquantel, the function of the hooks embedded in the intestine deteriorates and the scolex leaves the mucosa and becomes paralyzed. After the product is administered, it is largely absorbed from the stomach and intestines and reaches the maximum serum level within 30 minutes to 4 hours. It is localized in organs such as liver and kidney. Its serum half-life is 4 hours, and it is excreted mostly in the urine and a little in the stool. Praziquantel is completely eliminated from the body 8-10 hours after administration. Praziquantel is not irreversibly bound to body tissues.
AREA OF USE/INDICATIONS
It is used in the treatment of Taeniasis in horses and dogs, especially in sheep.
In sheep, Moniezia expansa, M. benedeni, Thysaniezia ovilla, Avitellina centripunctata, Stilesia globipunctata and S. hepatica (bile duct worms),
In horses, Anaplocephala sp. and Anaplocephaloides mamillana from the intestinal tapeworms,
In dogs, Echinococcus granulosus, E. multilocularis, Diphylidium caninum, Taenia ovis, Taenia psiformis, T. hydatigena, Multiceps multiceps, Mesocestoides sp. and T. teniformis species has a strong tennisid activity on cestodes.
Since Şeritab Oral Tablet is effective for adults, teenagers and scolexes of the tapeworms, it is suitable for total worm eradication. Şeritab Oral Tablets are used to eliminate the clinical manifestations of chronic Coenurus cerebralis in sheep.
USAGE AND DOSAGE
Unless recommended otherwise by the veterinarian, the Pharmacological dose of Şeritab Oral Tablet for elimination of young and adult tapeworms is 15 mg Praziquantel/kg body weight in sheep, 1 mg/kg b.w. in horses, 5-10 mg/kg b.w. in dogs. Tablets can be used by dividing them in the middle. It reduces the symptoms of the disease in chronic Coenurus cerebralis when administered at a dose of 50-100 mg/kg b.w. for 2-5 days in a row against gid (Coenurus cerebralis) and peritoneal cysticercoids (Cysticercus tenuicollise).

Tablets are swallowed with plenty of water. For sliver control, the application can be repeated after 6-8 weeks if necessary. It should be given by nasal meri probe in horses.
SPECIFIC CLINICAL INFORMATION AND WARNINGS FOR TARGET SPECIES
Due to the mechanism of action of praziquantel (depolarization, contraction, vacuolization, and shortening of the tapeworm length), it is not always possible to see the worms in the stool as a whole after the administration of Şeritab Oral Tablet. As a result of partial disintegration of the worms and absorption from the intestines, the tapeworms may appear dissolved (like a string or a membrane), like a rosary or encapsulated, especially in hard stools. There is no need to apply any diet to the animals before using the Şeritab Oral Tablet or to use a post-treatment slider. Praziquantel is an anthelmintic with a high margin of safety. It did not cause any side effects in sheep even at doses of 100-150 mg/kg. Since sheep are intermediate hosts to the larval forms of Multiceps multiceps and Taenia hydatigena (Coenurus cerebralis (madhead disease) and Cysticercus tenuicollis) from the tapeworms in dogs, importance should be given to fighting tapeworms in dogs.

RESIDUAL WARNINGS FOR FOOD PRODUCING ANIMALS
Drug Residue Elimination Period: It is “0” day for mutton. Not applicable to dairy sheep whose milk is offered for human consumption.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
It has no known contraindications.
Use in pregnancy: Safe in pregnant animals when used at recommended doses.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY THE APPLICANT AND WARNINGS FOR PHYSICIANS
Tapeworm eggs discarded after treatment are a source of infection for mites in the soil. The stool that comes out after the treatment should be destroyed thoroughly.
STORAGE CONDITIONS AND SHELF LIFE
Shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture. Store at (10°C-25°C) and away from direct sunlight.
TRADE DRESS
It is offered for sale in aluminum foil-coated PVC blister packages containing 20, 50 and 100 tablets in a cardboard box.
