Name and Brief Description of the Veterinary Biological Product: Colisera E.coli Antiserum

Pharmaceutical Form: Injectable Hyperimmune Serum

Name and Strength of Active Ingredients, When Necessary, Name and Amounts of Excipients: Contains at least 1/640 AU of Escherichia coli K99 antibody.

INDICATIONS: Colisera E.coli Antiserum is used for protection and treatment against septicemia and infections caused by Escherichia coli in newborn calves, lambs and kid goats.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: It doesn’t have any.

SIDE EFFECTS: There is always a possibility of anaphylactic and allergic reactions in any serum administration. As a precaution, antihistamine and antiallergic preparations should be kept ready.

TARGETED SPECIES: Newborn calves, lamb, kid goats.

DOSE, METHOD AND WAY OF APPLICATION FOR EACH SPECIES: Coli sera E.coli Antiserum is applied subcutaneously to newborn lambs and kid goats in an amount of 5ml and to calves in an amount of 10ml for protective purposes. For treatment purposes, it is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously in an amount of 10 ml to lambs and kids and 20 ml to calves in the first period when the disease begins and symptoms appear.

LEGAL PURIFICATION PERIOD OF THE ANIMALS WITH FOOD VALUE: 0 days.

Commercial Packaging Forms (Total Dose and Filling Volume Forms):  Pharmaceutical Type 2 glass vials contain 10ml (1 calf, two lambs/kid goats doses), 30ml (3 calves, six lambs/kid goats doses), 50ml (5 calves, ten lambs/kid goats doses) and 100ml (10 calves, 20 lambs/kid goats doses). It will be packaged in (dose) quantities. Antiserum bottles will be closed with a butyl stopper and aluminium cap and labelled.

How to Store and Shelf Life: It should be kept at +2/ +8° temperature and in the dark.

WARNINGS: In practice, asepsis and antisepsis rules must be followed. Antiserum should be brought to room temperature before application to animals. The cold chain should be followed in the storage and transportation of antiserum; each opened antiserum bottle should be used on the same day, and unfinished or empty bottles should be disposed of properly.

Precautions the Practitioner Should Take and Recommendations for Physicians: It is harmless to the practitioner.

Disposal of Waste and Unused Products: Antiserum bottles that need to be destroyed can destroyed by boiling for 15 minutes.
